Document Access Project currently helps Washington State applicants with birth certificate requests. We may provide application guidance, financial assistance, or both when funding is available.
Right now, Document Access Project is focused on helping with birth certificate requests only. We are starting with one important service so we can build a clear, careful, and trustworthy process.
As we grow, we hope to expand support to additional types of official documents.
Complete the request form and tell us what kind of help you need: application help, financial assistance, or both.
We review your request carefully and check whether it fits our current birth certificate assistance program.
We will contact you by email as soon as possible. Please check your inbox and spam folder.
If you need help with the application process, we may guide you through the steps and help you understand what information may be needed.
If you request financial assistance and funding is available, we may help cover approved birth certificate fees.
Applicants who receive financial assistance may be asked to provide proof of payment, confirmation, or receipts.
Document Access Project is still building its payment process. Financial assistance may be provided to approved applicants to help with required birth certificate fees when funding is available.
Assistance is not guaranteed and is based on eligibility, available funding, and our current program guidelines.
Start with the application form. We’ll review your request and get back to you as soon as possible.
